Trend Talk: Hottest Colors for 2022

sage green cabinetry is bold, yet neutral and pairs well with gold and wood tones

Color is always a trendy topic. From the color of the year to keeping things classic or going bold, it’s a way to showcase personality and make a statement within a space. Color can feel like a big commitment, but it doesn’t have to be. Color is about more than the paint you choose for the walls. It’s how you make a space your own. It’s creating a room, a space, you just can’t get enough of.

Inspired by a recent TikTok, we’re sharing our take on the hottest colors for 2022. Some are bold and bright. Others are classically understated. Whatever your color vibe, integrating color into your home’s aesthetic is an instant style upgrade.

Without further ado, our color trend faves are …

Going Organic

There is no question that shades of green are in. Especially when it comes to cabinetry and bold accents within a space. Our current faves include sage and deep green. These tones, whether muted or bright, bring the feeling of outside in. When it comes to cabinetry and built-ins, muted green tones add visual interest and elegance to an otherwise neutral space. The effect is both elevated and timeless.

Our favorite way to integrate deep green is with statement upholstery. But it’s equally stunning on walls and cabinets. Jewel tones feel luxurious and balance a neutral aesthetic and ocean views.

Keeping It Neutral

A good neutral will never go out of style, but how neutrals are defined can change. Cream is a timeless color that complements any aesthetic and has the added benefit of making a space feel extra big and bright. It’s great on walls as it sets the stage for any design and offers maximum flexibility when it comes to furnishings and accents. And a good neutral like cream is both warm and bright. It’s the perfect backdrop for any space and a truly timeliness trend.

Earth Tones

Brown can feel intimidating and a bit too trendy to last. But the right shade is neutral enough for any design aesthetic while also adding warmth to a space.  A muted brown blends seamlessly with wood tones. It’s neutral with a luxe feel. It’s interesting, without feeling overwhelming. Brown tones pair well with a myriad of finishes, add an element of coziness to a space and feel effortlessly elegant.

Be the Sun

Speaking of bringing the outdoors in, nothing says sunshine and happiness like a bold yellow accent. Lemon yellow is both yummy and bright. And as an accent, it livens up any space. Integrate into tile, accent a door or use an inspiration for wall decor - this color is an instant mood lifter and is sure to spark conversation.

Color can seem scary, but it doesn’t have to be. Adding color is not always about bold and bright walls. Instead, use color to make a space your own with furnishings in your favorite jewel tone, colorful accents and organic elements that let you bring nature inside. Color can be both bold and effortless - we’ve got you!
